Tony Marano
President & Chief Executive Officer, Encelium Technologies
Prior to joining Encelium, Mr. Marano was the Chief Executive Officer of the Americas for Cushman & Wakefield located at their World Headquarters in Manhattan, New York.
Preceding the position of CEO, Mr. Marano served as Global Chief Operating Officer for Cushman & Wakefield.
Before his tenure with Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Marano was the Vice President of the Business Services Division at Lucent Technologies after working as the Vice President of Global Real Estate for Lucent. Mr. Marano was also the Vice president of Global Real Estate for AT&T prior to the spinoff of Lucent Technologies from AT&T. He was responsible for the management of AT&T’s 160 million square foot worldwide portfolio.
Mr. Marano began his career with AT&T with its prestigious Bell Laboratories Research & Development Division where he subsequently moved on to both Marketing, Operations and Finance management positions.
Respected throughout the Real Estate industry, Mr. Marano was named the 1999 “Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year” by Commercial Property News. Throughout his career, he has been very active with real estate organizations, including the International Development Research Council (IDRC), now known as CoreNet.
Active in the local community, Mr. Marano is currently a member of the board of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, Project Sunshine, Institute for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders, Achilles Foundation, Chilton Hospital Board of Directors and the Financial Executives Institute. He is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Real Estate, Inc., publisher of Real Estate Forum and Globest.com.
Mr. Marano received a BA degree from Rutgers University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In addition, he has attended Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and the London School of Economics.
Terry Mocherniak
Chief Operating Officer, Encelium Technologies
Mr. Mocherniak has over 16 years’ experience in the advanced lighting technology sector and has been involved in two technology start-up companies. Prior to founding Encelium, Mr. Mocherniak was Managing Partner of Value Added Ventures Corporation, a Toronto based venture capital fund and was also CEO and co-founder of Lumion Corporation, an electronic ballast and lighting control system manufacturer. Mr. Mocherniak holds an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.
Mr. Mocherniak has spoken at numerous conferences and events, most recently at ASHRAE, Chicago 2009 (Addressable Dimming Controls), Greenbuild, Boston 2008 (Product Showcase – Industrial Lighting Controls), RealComm, San Diego CA, June 2008 (Innovation Showcase – Lighting Systems) and Tridium Summit, Wesley Chapel, Florida, May 2008 (Business Track, Partner Applications, Part 1). He has also had several articles published on the topic of advanced lighting controls and energy management.
Marc Hoffknecht
Chief Technology Officer, Encelium Technologies
Mr. Hoffknecht is Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Encelium Technologies. Prior to forming Encelium, Mr. Hoffknecht was Vice President, R & D of Lumion Corporation. He has 18 years’ experience in software development and 12 years’ experience in electronic hardware and firmware design.
Eddie Johnson
Vice President of Sales, Encelium Technologies
Mr. Johnson serves as Vice President of Sales and manages the Company's direct and indirect global sales channels. Over the past 25 years, Mr. Johnson has worked in the fields of electrical distribution, lighting manufacturing and lighting controls, where he has served in several capacities including international sales management, OEM and alliance partner creation, and senior management. He served as managing Director of ECS Lighting Controls Ltd., the UK's leading office lighting controls manufacturer where he successfully led the company's efforts to introduce and commercialize a complex, networked lighting control system, a product that was at the time considered ground breaking.
More recently he was President & CEO of Telemics Inc. a US based Venture Capital backed start up that developed and sold wireless based outdoor lighting control and monitoring systems for the utility and municipality markets. Before Joining Encelium in January 2009, Mr. Johnson headed up the intelligent lighting systems business unit of Tyco, the Fortune 500 Company that acquired the Telemics technology.
Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton and an MBA from the London Business School.
