Encelium has established a Technical Services department committed to meeting customer service and support needs through our value-based Service Agreement offering, centrally managed, and regionally delivered with a customer-focused culture. With responsibility for Customer Service and Satisfaction, you will be charged with growing Encelium’s Service Agreement business by: signing new customers, and deploying our Customer Service & Support Strategy.

With revenue growth responsibility, you will engage directly with potential clients at both the executive and operational level, as well as generate sales through our channel partners. Deploying our strategy will require analysis, implementation, and continuous development of new offerings, working cooperatively with Encelium management and peers as the champion of this initiative.

The position will be based in Encelium’s Canadian office, located in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The responsibilities of this position are a combination of business development and implementation, hands-on, with profit responsibility for this aspect of our business.

  • Develop a recurring-revenue business around Service Agreements to our installed base of customers:
     
    • Analyze & develop Service Agreement offerings with respect to customer and company benefits, analyzing cost of delivery via actual and projected costs.
    • Work with Operations to align warranty programs of 3rd party products.
    • Develop delivery and revenue sharing mechanisms with channel-partners.
  • Achieve a sales penetration for Service Agreements exceeding 50% of our installed base of customers, through:
     
    • Your successful direct selling to our customers.
    • Working with Encelium Sales Directors and the reseller channel to qualify and track new opportunities.
    • Preparation of case-studies and sales collateral.
  • Working together with the Manager of Technical Services, develop and implement policies, workflows, and systems to deliver, bill, and measure performance of Encelium’s after-sale service offerings, including:
     
    • Drive implementation of a customer site-status database.
    • Integrate trouble-ticket call tracking and billing into Encelium’s CRM system.
    • Spec and implement new systems, such as: web-portal, after-hours service, etc.
    • Data mine service calls for continuous improvement feedback to R&D and Operations.
    • Develop and deliver customer service training for internal staff and resellers.
    • Establish customer-satisfaction metrics and drive them to high levels.
  • Participate as an active member of the Encelium team and foster an environment of cooperation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

The following are specific industry, academic, and functional experience / qualifications that we view as important to the successful achievement of the role’s responsibilities and performance deliverables.

  • A strategic thinker, with the proven ability to drive sales and grow revenue within a small to medium-sized technical-service business, through experience in business development, direct sales, or product management.
  • Experience in working closely with customer technical support and service departments.
  • Post Secondary education (Diploma or Degree) in Engineering / Electrical / Building Automation Systems / Energy Management / Lighting / or IT & Data Center Services, or with strong industry experience in one of these disciplines.
  • Highly proficient with personal computers and MS Office, presentation, and project management applications.
  • Must understand the culture of growth-oriented, early stage technology companies with an appreciation of creatively dealing with limited resource environments where balancing strategic and tactical responsibilities is essential.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills. Able to work independently and cooperatively.
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Must be able to travel in the United States.

ASSETS

  • The ability to read drawings to identify lighting, electrical, or control systems would be an asset. Experience with energy control systems based on efficiency ROI, lighting controls, or remote monitoring and control would also be an asset but is not a requirement.
